Thread: .338 Lapua and 300gr Lapua Scenars

Been up to the range today to chrony and shoot groups. I loaded from 89.5 to 95gr of AR2225. The 300gr Scenars are coated with the Tubb Boron Nitride which has given me very good results in my 6.5x47 Lapua and 7mm Rem Mag. You generally have to load a couple of grs higher to reach expected velocities but the resulting reduction in fouling makes it well worth while. With this expectation I was surprised to reach max pressure at my lowest load of 89.5gr 2735fps with bolt face rub at 90grs and 2789fps. good velocity and about 0.50" 3 shot groups. I will load some more around this point and shoot 5 shot groups and asses results.

I also carried out a tall target test on my older Vortex Razor HD 5-20x50 With 100 clicks wound on at 100m the adjustment measured 1015mm so 1.5% over. This can be adjusted in my ballistic solver
