Need a 300 grainer :)
Took them long enough...
I thought they were suspending all development and some bullets production to keep up with demand of the most popular projectiles.
Something smells funny.
they look good, $50USD for 100, might be about $1 a pill here so a very affordable alternative
shit they are $50/50 damn it
I be ringing the wholesaler on monday to offer to test a thousand for them!
That'll make a mess
The BC is fairly average but the speed of the 285 might get it closer to the 300 Berger ;)
I think it will go great in my rum
Yep, it just doesn't smell right to go from"we are that bloody busy tryin to meet demand we are stopping all development and production of all less popular projectiles to satisfy the bulk of demand"
To "hey look at this we made a 338 amax"
Yea about time but WTF!???
Maybe things are a bit more relaxed now?
Did they ever say they were stopping development? I thought they just weren't doing as many production runs of the less popular stuff due to the time it takes to swap the production lines over in between runs.
338 might be on a different productine line altogether for all we know - you could always email them and ask!
Hornady was suspending their less popular product till January 2014 if I remember well. That means in 3 months time they will be on full run of most stuff...
Smell maybe funny, but funny GOOD, not bad ! The 300gr Berger is working fine in my 338 FX but i will be soooo keen to try them.
Ive seen enough deer shot with rabbit guns "7mm mags, 162gr a-max" to know they should be the cats pissflaps at making HOLES.
Im waiting for Steve Collings to reply to my e-mail
Im sure in there statement on their site they stated they were stopping development and less popular production to meet demand.
I have been wrong before but Im pretty sure of the above.
Great news! I abolutely love Amax. I want to sleep on a waterbed filled with Amax!
Nah, it's like that chinese needle thing - very healthy! :D
once these baby's get here there wont be a center fire in the cupboard that's not running them!
52 g in the 22-250 140 in 6,5 162 in 7mm mag and 285 in 338
There is a god,the Amax god!
I just got confirmation from steve that they will be getting them in but as Hornady are planning on doing the production 20th january, we wont be seeing them before march
Xmas has come early then ? :)
I got these this morning very nice they are too :)

Greg, there are forum rules against posting porn. ;)
LOL :)
They look good.
Have read reports from the States that they fly very well, holding very good vertical past 1000
Their BC may not fanciest around, but the 285 Match has shot well way out past 2000 so you would like to think the tip would only make things better :)
The Amax has the reputation, in this country at least, of being a very capable hunting projectile hopefully these will continue that.
Will be anxious to hear of your experience with them. They might very well be my next bullet. Should make my 338 a little more useful that!
If you do a Xmas reindeer, make sure it's after the gifts are delivered.
Cant wait to see how the go in the rum
Who did you get them through? Pretty keen to give em a whirl
Are Hornady making a 338 cal ELR-X this year to replace the 285grainer ?
