My brother who lives in BC is buying a guide gun for me to use over there for bear protection.
A good mate who has guided over there for the last 5 years has and recommended the Marlin 1895 SBL in 45/70.
He brought his home after the last season over there and I had a wee look at it on the weekend. Nice gun.
I haven't asked him yet but wanting to take some loads over for it and was hoping to use his gear to roll them before I go. Knowing him he would just do it for me
but I don't want to bludge off him so will get some components.
Any of you bigbore shooters that use one recommend a load using a 300 gr JHP.
18.5" so ideal for a saddle gun.
What good brass and powder is available in NZ?
Hopefully will never fire it in anger but if I have too, I want it to hit hard
I intend to leave it over there as I will be going over a fair bit.
Cheers.
