Thread: 5.45x39 ammo

Hi guys, anyone know where to get cheap 5.45x39FMJ ammo from?
thinking to buy a AK 74 but ammo availability is not that good here in NZ..

any info will be much appreciated!

I've never seen it around but then I don't have a '74. Seen this on TradeMe, perhaps the seller might be able to point you in the right direction?

thanks dogmatix, i will try SAI. called gun city,the person on the phone didn't know what i was talking about when i mentioned 5.45x39! and they have it advertized!! but no in stock.

Ryan, that add on trade me is from gunworks in CHCH. they have a small amount and very expensive for what i used to pay for 5.45! i guess is not very popular here in NZ! is an awesome caliber and really cheap to shoot (somewhere else)!

contact the barnaul supplier directly and see if hes got any coming in on next shipment.

What Konev said, the guy who has the Barnaul contract can bring it in pretty cheaply, you can also try importing it yourself if you contact the guys at TPZ or Barnaul directly,
I have also thought about picking up a 5.45 but was put off by the ammo situation here.
