    50 cal muzzleloader ballistics

I'm just looking at making a really basic drop chart for my 50 cal muzzleloader and 500 express cartridge rifle

They both shoot a 395 grain bullet at around 1400 fps
They both take 80 grains of black powder.
The muzzleloader uses FFFG because it has a 25" barrel.
The 500 express uses FFG because it has a slower peak power curve and the rifle is very old and it has a very long barrel

They are both zeroed at around 60m and 100mm of hold over gives me a central hit on a small gong at 100m

So approximately what are my 125m and 150m hold overs ?

Yes I could go and do this by trial and error.
But I am sorting gear for work this week and won't have time before maybe going hunting next weekend
They are nice and clean and away and they are staying there
And the BC of these lumps of lead are hopeless
But they do make big holes in tasty little animals that you can nibble right up to

Skim down to the bottom of the page and you can clip on a link for an online calculator. As I understand it a bullet will work using this calculator very similar to a round ball.
