We used to drill them for goat hunting. Unfortunately it tended jut to peel open and the core would separate causing inconsistent wounding. 303 amd 308 fmjs weren't any better.

There's quite a bit too the design of good hunting bullets and modding fmj's is not a great way to go. Keen to see how the 222's go, they might still work on something small like the pesky australians.
