I tried 270 brass as I had a shit tonne but wouldn't chamber with out a neck turn so it became to much hassle went with 2506 brass. Where are you located I could put a piece of 3006 brass through my 6.5 06 die and see if it works for youQuote:

I have 6.5 06AI - got dies from Brownells. Neck down 270 brass then fire form to AI. Never had to neck turn.
Used 3006 lapua in mine and had to neck turn a shit load off them, all depends what your neck spec is

Use 2506 in mine, not ai though, run through die and away.
Seems like a lot of dicking around for a round that wont do anything a 270 cant do...

If your using boat tail bullets they will seat in new 25 06 brass without resizing and shoot just as well.

I have a friend who just seats 6.5 boat tail bullets straight into 25-06 brass without resizing.
You gotta love the 06 family, they all work well. Never had a 6.5 version but I bet it would be excellent for long range work.
