    6.5 Creedmoor

Finally got to the range to do some load development today.

About 2720fps at 41.5gr with no pressure signs. Will go a bit further and see how far we can push it but am pretty happy with the results so far.

    Ruger Precision
    6.5 Creedmoor
    AR 2209
    140gr Amax
3 shot groups @ 100m (second sheet move everything to the right)

Satisfying your best expectations I imagine....that is really really good... and with your bullet of choice too. I know little about the Creedmoor other than that 41.5gr of 2209/4350 is reported as being a common accuracy loading and Quickload tells me you can go up to 43.5gr for 2850 ft/sec (for 63kPSI peak ) in the knowledge that if it doesn't work out you now have accurate loads not too far away velocity-wise to fall back on.
Please keep us posted on developments.

Accuracy rules over velocity. Velocity is just cosy.
    Very nice

Using Norma Brass, hornady stuff is around and slightly cheaper. Factory stuff there is next to nothing, brass is around and both are pricey. All I could find at the time was Hornady 129gr SST, cost me about $80 if I remember rightly, the Norma brass was $220.

Nice! bergers are next on my list, however feel the Pmags OAL will be an issue, already having to seat bullets back further than I'd like, trying to source an alpha or accurate so I can stretch them out bit more. 24 inch barrel here.

No you donot need to use a alpha or accurate to get extra onside OAL in the mag , just run a std AI AW 10rd mag

Went our today and got to pressure signs at 43.5gr, primer really starting to flatten out and harder bolt lift so left it there.
Now I'm at a bit of a conundrum as to which to go with, I'm extremely happy with both, the 41.5gr is a lil faster @ 2695fps (not 2720fps, my bad) and has a lower SD, while the 41gr had the better grouping (could have been the shooter).

I know SFA but would be going with the 41gr. That vertical stringing would make itself far more pronounced at distance and velocity at 20fps difference, pfft who cares
Problem is you got a sweet load with 140gr amax, now your going to have to develop a sweet load with something else unless your just using them hunting or have a heap of projectiles? In which case send some my way
