    6.5 Grendel 150gn cast bullet

Picked up a 150gn lyman mould the other day
To try in the Grendel they are actually dropping at 156gn

Powder coated gas checked bullets should be capable of upto 25-2700 fps no worries
So with a Grendel im thinking a hot load might get to 2300 if its lucky so i should be able to run them as hot as the rifle will let me

Very little data for the big bullets and ive asked on the Grendel forum aswell (65grendel.com)
And a bit of data has come up on there but not with any powders i have in stock
    Currently have
    Lever revolution
    2209
    RL 15.5
    Maybe some 2208

Can someone crunch some numbers on quick load possibly
    See where I should start

Sounds like a sweet idea. I ran into leading issues at about 2400 in a 303 I was trying to run hot with GC PC cast loads. Not saying it's not possible, plenty have proven it is, just that's my experience. From what reading I have done, projectiles fit to the lead and throat is critical.

I have quickload and can run it for you. What's your max seat length and what is the OAL of the projectile?

    @SixtyTen
    Max seat length is 2.261”
Bullet length is 1.188” missing gas check so might be a few thou longer once fitted

Arround 0.435 of bullet below the case mouth
Bullet base is just below the sholder so plenty of powder capacity

I'll run it tomorrow when I get home from work.

Have a look into Gordy's Reloading Tool, not sure if it's still available, but if it is, it's free and every bit as good as quickload, better in some cases.

    Sweet will do
Will also look forward to the quick load data tomorrow evening

From what I’ve heard (with other powders ) Grendel will top out somewhere around 21-2300 with a 150 (jacked projectile)
So i will be under the 2400 where you saw issues @SixtyTen
    Cheers
