    6.5 PRC

So who's running one of these I'm not interested in a long barrel version but around 20" to 22" I'm wanting to to know actual speeds etc to see if there is any advantage over the .260 or Creedmoor.

Not much increase in performance over a 6.5-284 to be fair but you can buy extremely accurate high BC factory ammo for it if you don't reload, this will be the next 6.5 Creedmoor.

I have built a few now, more in the process, here are some of them

    18" #2B Bartlein https://www.nzhuntingandshooting.co....6-5-prc-55795/

I know that the PRC factory loads are de-tuned so as not to go over the shooting competition speed limit, but why is it that with hunting reloads the PRC is slower than the GAP SAUM when they are more or less the same thing ????

The Saum is slightly bigger & the 6.5 PRC is little behind it velocity wise

    Quick question.

6.5Saum - do you keep the Tikka action in it's "short action" configuration"
6.5PRC - Same question as above

    Thanks

It won't fit in the SA configuration or magazines

Also reading Terminal Ballistic Studies research berger is not regarded as the best choice. Apparently the 147eldm is good, but not good say under 200 and you should use the 143eldx
Be interested iin wat Kiwi Greg finds out. Cant get my hands on any of the 156 at the moment to test

No not yet, hopefully I will be comparing the 156 EH with the 153 A-Tip once I get a permit & this lock down stuff is sorted

Have a look on the US Forums great reviews for the 156 & 147s, just bare in mind our animals are much smaller & generally like a softer projectile

Shot 20 odd with the 147 eld m in 260. Buzz gave me load. Longest shot 460 yard red stag. Dropped on spot. Closest maybe 5 yards. Same result.
