Anyone running a 6.5 PRC should be able to help, similar concept of case and bore. RL26, Fed 215M and 140 VLD is what I'd go for as a starting formula. I ran RL26, Fed 215M & 147 ELDM in my 260Imp with great results.

    Hey mate,

    I'm shooting a 6.5 PRC 18" barrel.
    I havent tried any vld's.
    I've been doing a fair amount of load dev with 143gr ELD-X, RL26 with fed210m primers ~2900fps

i have shot 11 (with 6.5CM and 2 with 6.5PRC) deer with the 143ELD-X pills (from 10m to 400m) and steel to 920m. They work well for me.

    They are tough projectiles!
When shooting 6mm steel plate @ 700m they cut clean through. My mates 7mm08 140gr NBT and .308 150gr AMax barely dent the steel.
Same @ 500m out of the 6.5CM @2650fps they cut clean through. My mates 7mm08 140gr NBT and .308 150gr AMax only dent half through the steel.
Yes they are still expanding on the deer. Not sure past 400m though as i havent had the opportunity to try them out past there yet.

I posted some info on my load dev here https://www.nzhuntingandshooting.co....6-5-prc-55795/

What brand of projectile are you referring to?

They are like shooting little balls of tinfoil.

If you respect our game animals, VLDs are to be avoided at all costs.

Troll surely? Either that or you have no idea what makes a projectile a VLD

Yup I use the berger 130 VLD hunting in both 6.5s I own. Have had nothing but a brilliant run with them in both accuracy and on animals. Mostly thar and chams but a couple of deer and pigs as well.

For the ranges I am comfortable to shoot I could get away with a other cheaper projectiles like the Hornady interlock but I am really happy with the berger.

You can only buy them if your hat has a chin strap and you like blue crayons best.
