Bang on. I literally have no count for the number of Tahr I've shot dead on the spot with .243, 0-300. Right mix of pills too: 85sp, 90 scirocco, 100 prohunter, 95 sst, 95 berger, 95 targex, 105 targex. Not shooting murderous grizzly bears desperately trying to smash bone to anchor it, just put it in the boiler room, job done. And the "premium bullet? the scirocco, my least preferred. 95berger and 105 targex favorite.

Thar are no harder to shoot and put down than any other wild game we have in this country. It all comes down to the hunter everytime.
As already said they can be dropped at long ranges like anything else or close up and personal ...right up and personal they'll drop with a small caliber time and time again. The bullshit I hear from many Sports shop owners and their staff on the topic of Thar hunting is quite sickening
at times. Like I said it comes down to the hunter, how good he is on Thar and more so their habits at different times of year etc.
You do not have to be a mountaineer to kill a thar unless you choose to do so.
Back to the original question...... a 120 grain Sierra pro hunter is a good choice in the 6.5's

Followed your advice to use 95gr Berger on deer. They are the worst bullet we have ever used. They just go straight thru stags. Absolute crap.

You know Berger make a target bullet in that weight right? The target bullet has a heavy jacket and is not designed to open at all and is not recommended for game, because it will pencil through. Best check your box........ I have never lost an animal with the 95 vld, Berger or Targex.
