    6.5x284

    Hi All,
thinking about working up a hunting load for my new 6.5,
    bullet choice in particular.
So the 143eldx,or something a bit tougher?
I've got 140 sst as well.
    120 BT?
I'm thinking heavier, tougher projectiles may make better use of this cartridge.
    keen for feedback

I've got a barrel here to fit at my leisure.
I'm thinking of starting out with the eldx and re23 or 26

I can't see any point in putting a 120 gn pill in a case with 60+ grains of capacity. 140 plus.

143gr eldx minimum, or 147gr eldm or heavier if you have enough barrel twist.

If you're wanting to strech its legs particually on game the heavier higher bc bullet will carry more velocity and energy out much further than the lighter bullets leaving the muzzle at a higher velocity.

Hard to find pointy tips and as a hunting load assuming you are 0-500? 140NBT and 140 interlocks. Reasonable BC and with the speed you can shoot them at they will be savage

@Noswal is using the 143 eldx in his 25" barreled 6.5-284 and killing things out to 1000 yards with them.

    Things plural lol
At this point one thing, a goat.
I've taken a number of animals in that 500-875yd range though. Deer, goats and a pig.
Nothing at all wrong with the Eld-x 143gr other than they're hard to get hold of at the moment.
