Any suggestions for a semi decent 140gr load? Am happy with 2650fps.
Any suggestions for a semi decent 140gr load? Am happy with 2650fps.
In my Carl Gustav i have 44.5gr 2209 behind a 140gr SST doing 2710fps across the chrony. Projectile is seated 0.20" from the lands
43.5gr 2209 gave me a 4 shot average of 2650fps.
Both loads shoot about 1"
What model rifle do you have? I'd suggest starting at 42.5gr and working upwards.
Hey Whisper.. I'm just about to do some loads for a 96 Mauser.. Cheers for the info.
Yip 45-46grains 2209 I've used 2600-2700fps
1000yds is fun, 1500yds is getting interesting, 2000yds is exciting, 2500yds will blow your mind
I have a 6.5x55 and im just learning the ropes with reloading. Just bought my first set of dies from
Gunsmithing Tools, Reloading Equipment, Books & DVDs - Workshop Innovation . Julian is a good bloke who deffinately went the extra mile to make sure i got the right kit.
Anyone swear by a particular powder? i seem to be heading towards Federal primers and i have my brass sorted
ADI, AR2209.
I have only had poor results from N560
A little bit. I will have to check but I'm pretty sure I have moved all my rounds to AR2209.
Well if anyone in Auckland wants to get rid of any N560, I'm happy to take it off their hands for beer or cash. PM me
Anybody tried casting their own projectiles for a CG?
"I do not wish to be a pawn or canon fodder on the whims of MY Government"
My next best powder to N560 has been IMR4831 (around 46/47 grns in my modern rifle).
In fact it is more accurate than N560 but a little behind in velocity.
W760 used to work really well in the 6.5x55.
