well ive splashed out and bought my first ever brand new center fire a t3 light 6.5x55 lefty im set up to load for 6.5 already but the m96 only likes 140gr bullets what other loads do you guys find work in the t3 i use ar2209 powder cheers

Nice choice of calibre with plenty of projectile choice. I would be looking along the lines of 140 Amax or 140/130 Accubond, those projectiles should work well with 2209, would probably start with around 43 grains and work up from there.
Run the 140GR Amax in the blaser, 47.5gr of 2209 for 2830. Wouldn't bother on the amax unless you have a shit tonne, go the new ones or 140 bergers.
thanks the m96 loves the 140s will the t3 shoot lighter bullets well would you know what the twist rate is for 6.5

It appears the AMAX is discontinued, so you might as well go straight to the ELD-X or ELD-M for the ongoing availability (and the difference is a little academic unless you're really pushing things range-wise).
For what it's worth, I'm using 46.2gr 2209 with a 143gr ELD-X, Federal 210M primers & Lapua brass.
Everyone seems to be suggesting high BC bullets suitable for longer ranges which are great if that’s your intended purpose. I had good results with the 129 Interlock at normal hunting ranges.
+1 to the above.
I haven't shot many animals in the body with any bullet but I have done enough with the 6.5 129 interlock to highly recommend them.
They have worked really well in my rifle.

140 amax (shoulder shots are not an option if you want a quick kill), 44.7gr AR2209. Lapua brass, Fed 210M primer. 2650 - 2700 fps.
Looking at Barnes LRX 127gr as a replacement hunting projectile, as I have run out of the amax projectiles, and want something that does not grenade on impact with anything hard. I have used the Barnes TTSX in my .308 with great results.
Im starting to think along the same lines with the LRX 127. Be keen to see how they shoot. A mate from Tassie came over for a couple of hunting trips & uses nothing but Barnes out to 500m in his 7mm Remmag. Ive seen the results first hand....impressive.

I use Lapua brass, N560 powder, CCI BR2 primer and Scirocco Swift 130grn in my 6.5x55. 2600fps. Shoot's an honest 0.6" and just works.

I'm using the same powder but uncompressed (47gns). Getting just on 2900 using a 29" barrel. 2209 is pretty much the powder of choice for a shorter barrel for consistency. I've heard RL17 can get better velocity but has more variation across temperature (never tried it myself)
