    6.5x55AI

    @R93 @Beavis

Using factory winchester brass on its 3rd firing Win760 (49.5gr) 140amax fed LR out of a 21" barrel I got 2,863fps as average, fastest shot did go 2,906.

I'm thinking of changing completely now though and going 130swifts and N560 but it's $$$ for a poor bugger. I reckon I would get them going 3000fps.

Roger. I'm working up a 760 load for my standard Swede. Might make 45gr my max since I am inventing the load data.

Nah she'll be right, I'll use a hot glue gun and add a bit of pvc pipe to the neck to hold the extra powder

I can drop some 130 swifts for you to try a kiwijames place if ya want. He can flick them up on a courier or something later.

I would expect you to get 2950ish with sciroccos easy in that chambering.
21" barrel is limiting in most 6.5 chamberings I reckon.
Dunno if I would use 760. RL-17 or superperformance will go well I reckon.
Sidney had a 6.5x55 ai. Try sending him a message for some ideas.
Do what ya want! Ya will anyway.

Not knowing a lot about the 6.5 range, but is 6.5-06 the answer? Or, what about a gonzo?

Yeah that'd be awesome thanks! Much appreciated. I actually only thought about using them because you said they are good.

Had a 6.5-06 and loved it.
I am now using the same bullets in a .260 Ackley and getting 80 fps less on aveeage than the '06.
Pretty insignificant out to 750ish really.

By all means don't start at these you won't get near them wouldn't think but work up to these.

Built on a Barnard s action with 28 " barrel.

    140 amax
    Lapua formed brass
    215 primer
    79.8mm oal
    52gr r17 for 3170

Same as above but n560 was 3190

    130 vld
    Lapua formed brass
    215 primer
    80.2mm oal
    53.5gr r17 for 3280

Don't start near theses tho drop way back to 48 and come up slowly, if your slapping up Ackley cases hard as your other photos she's bloody hot, invest in good set of mitutoyo calipers or outside micrometer and measure case head expansion, if your moving or marking up Lapua brass she's at the high end.

    My 3.50 worth
