I tried 100gr TGK (GameChanger), 103gr ELD-X and 108gr ELD-M in the 6mm Creedmoor (1:8”). I only use it for medium range deer and goat sniping, 200-400m type of shooting.
Hands down the easiest bullet to get to behave was the 108gr. Instant tiny groups through the whole ladder. The 103gr was a bit meh but would have come right with some fiddling around. The 100gr TGK was a disaster and was all over the place across the whole ladder. Both ELD-X and TGK boxes were sold with their remaining bullets.
That’s just in my rifle. Others will have different outcomes.
The 108gr ELD-M is just one of those cool bullets that seems to shoot for everybody. It’s proven be be very effective on reds with high shoulder and hilar shots. Have shot some fairly chunky hinds and spikers with it out past 400 with no drama whatsoever, a very satisfying THWOP. No issues with penetration and damage, just don’t expect a gaping great big exit wound. All the energy and action happens inside the animal. It wallops goats with that pleasing instantaneous DRT effect we like to see.
