6 mm Ai is Probably one of the best 6 mm option with the 6 br. I have 2x 6mm but don't use them much.

i dont own one but would consider it if i thought i needed/wanted more velocity than my present .243W

a saying i like . . . " you pick the bullet first, then the velocity you want, then the cartridge to do the job "
or the other option it " fck it why not "

what bullet and velocity is your present setup ?

    good luck . . . R
    without a picture . .. it never happened !

I've got a M700 CDL SS in 6mm rem, that runs pretty quick, must go look, but think the 80gr b-tips were kissing 3550fps, 24" tube.
    Think 3300 with the 100gr,
Bit more zip than the .234 can do,
I would put it on a long action, you will get much better speeds with the heavyweight bullets, as not cramped by magazine length limits,
Like both of mine, also got a 742 semi in 6mm Remington,
Found the bolt action M700 to be easy to work with, not fussy on powder or bullets, been thinking of selling both mine and building another on a long action featherweight M70,
Will update speeds once I get home,

Good round - mine was deadly on tahr. Used to use the 87 rain Hornady bthp as they were harder than the sp.
didn't have a chrony at that stage unfortunately.

Should be a hummer with some of the new slower powders like Superformance. I ran a 257 AI for years, that was very efficient, 6mm AI just its little bro.
    muzr257 and hthomas like this.
