    7 m08 hunting projectile

I'm new to the caliber and will be looking at a prjectile for general hunting 50 yars out to 300 ish . It's a Remington with a 20 inch barrel , what's a good powder choice also .

120 gr Nosler is good as well, same jacket as 140 apparently, and you can get them upto 3000fps easy

I use 162 amax for long range gongs

For varminting I use the sierra 100gr hp

but a lot less sectional density and higher velocity.

I've been enjoying the 140 VLD's so far, but if you're only looking for performance out to 300ish, they might be a bit pricey compared to others that will do just fine in that bracket.

Thanks for that . Must be a good combo . "Sold out "7projectile and primers . What's with the primers ? It Seems like they are quite often hard to get ? Is there another that's less Likely to be problem to get , now and future ?

The Nolser 120BT is a weird projectile. They use the same jacket as the 140 BT, but becuase the 120 bt is shorter the jacket is thicker at the tip.

140BT on left 120BT on right

120 TTSX or 110 TTSX are worth looking at too.

Additionally that thick copper base seen in the cutaway pic is designed for max penetration

I thumped a sika stag a week ago at 20yrds with my saum and the 140bt @3200fps, --that base and jacket was under the skin on the far side !!!!!

Needless to say i never found any lead

The 140g game king is an incredibly good 7 mm projectile

I thought you were only visiting Auckland for a short while, not shifting there.

Who is running the 120TTSX in their 7mm08? Should be safely 3000fps and useful.
