    7mm-08 reduced loads

Has anyone made reduced loads for the 7mm-08Rem? I was wanting to make up a load for target shooting so killing power, bullet construction or horsepower is irrelevant, only accuracy out to 100m.
I see Sierra do a 100g Varminter bullet in 7mm. Anyone know of any other light, cheap bullets like this? not too keen on going to a lead bullet as I can't be bothered making special cleaning regimes for this.
I have 2208 and RL15 available but not bothered if I need to get something a bit faster in the powder department to make this work.

So i gather the objective is reduced recoil (for kids maybe)?

Yeah light for caliber and starting loads would have to be the go, should still be plenty accurate for intended purpose id say. Ive done similar (reduced recoil kids loads) with my 260.

Is a very slow round still typically accurate?

Our interclub NZDA shoots are dominated by small caliber rifles. 222 and 223. There has to be something in this, plus I'm a mediocre shot at the best of time so need every advantage I can find.
Buying a rifle for club shoots makes no sense so I thought if it would work, I could down load my hunting rifle to be comparable to 223.

    Get rid of the Blaser?

I havent played around with it a whole lot to be honest but at a guess a full case with a 100gr on top in 7/08 might get you 1600fps?
I have really only used it for subs in 308 and yes it can be very accurate if you get consistent neck tension(anneal)and I was down to around 40% case full with pistol projectiles, could only be better/more consistant with a full case.

Thanks Cam sounds like it could work OK. @GWH I'm thinking even with modest loads with light for caliber projectiles I may be able to get some use from this as a varmint load and still gain the reduced load benifit.

    I have to ask tho.
Why dont you just get a 223 barrel for your hunting rifle?

Cost ultimately. Its going to run about $2500 + scope at a guess to go 223 Blaser (need mini bolt head and rail mount as well as barrel).
Really need to shoot a lot more to be fair but this is a cheap and easy option to try for now.

    9.0gr trailboss and a 130gr projectile gives 1020fps from an 18" barrel.

Didn't go that high, started at 9.5gr, but probably right.
