    7mm 1-8 twist

Might seem a silly question but what are the projectile weights in 7mm best suited for this twist rate . Thoughts please gents .

180gr will be perfect. Youll still be fine with 160gr+ and should be fine with 183gr smk, id check berger twist calculator for confirmation but 195 bergers should be fine too

I used 162 a-max in my 1:8 twist 7mm mag. They shot well.

I shot 180gr Berger hybrids in a 1:9” twist for years, then in a 1:8” for a while also. No obvious difference in performance between the two. On paper, the 1:9” was on the edge in terms of required stability, the 1:8” can stabilise the 195gr when pushed fast enough.

I'm shooting both berger 168gr, and 160 tmks well. In 284 Win.

Might be ok for paper, but may be spinning too fast for game and disintegrate on impact.
I'm not 100% sure, but may not be worth the risk of a wounded animal.
Some guys may have real world experience on that and can verify either way...

My 7mm Blaser 8 twist shoots both the 180 eldms and 145 barnes lrx just as accurate. The lrx prints an inch higher from memory. Deadly combo
