Anyone have any experience loading the 7mm 150 ELD X in 7mm 08 and have any load data they wish to share?
I have ADI2209 on hand but no published load data from Hornday or ADI.
Nosler list 150g data with IMR4350 and H414 (2209 equivalents) so this gives me a starting point but though Id check with members on here first.

My Nick Harvey book says start 45 - 2640fps and max 48.5 - 2825fps for 2209 with 150 grainers

If you can give H414/W760 a whirl, I found with 2209 being quite bulky I was running out of case capacity before reaching my upper pressure limit. That was with 160 grainers tho, never loaded anything lighter
My load is 45.5Gr of 2209 but this is at a COL of 2.910 giving 2659fps. These are long bullets and take up a lot of case volume of loaded to mag length. This load is only safe at the listed length and is safe in my rifle so work up carefully. Hornady group these with their 154gr bullets so if you find a load for these you can use it work up.
H414 will be your friend
I have just finished load development on my sako 85 708 18” with the 150gr eld-x in lapua brass using 2208.
I Found pretty much all 3 shot groups went around the half inch mark, final load went 1/4”, was pretty consistant, here’s the catch...
Hornady book max states 39gr, my load was using 45.5gr no pressure signs at all and going 2775FPS, ES was 6. I went to 46gr, groups opened up so stopped there, fairly confident I could of kept going, tread carefully tho. BTO - 2.279” with 0.030” jump.

here's some more info for you, Remember that the 150 ELD-X is 0.156-inch longer than the SMK that ADI list so you will need to increase your OAL to get near their max charge's

Seems the limiting factor is going to be the T3 magazine length. If I can’t get enough 2209 in then I guess I’ll need to swap for H414 as sugested.
yip use the ADI data for 154Gr I posted above and make the OAL 1mm (40thou) shorter than your mag length. Before I got an extended magazine for my Rem700 I could still just get 45gr in but it was a compressed charge and was starting to show pressure signs in my rifle. Also don't get hung up on speed with these the BC is so high they hold the speed well and even at 2600fps they hold enough speed and energy to 550yds for deer.
How far are you wanting to shoot?
BTW I am using 2208 as I load for a 243 as well so am economizing on powder, Win760/H414 would be a good choice too as well as RL-17, but I like the low temp sensitivity of ADI powder as well as being way easier to get than RL-17

The point of this exercise is to replicate the performance of the factory round which shoots well to 500yards which is as far as I’m likely to shoot game with this rifle. I’ve assumed a velocity of 2650fps for this as it matches my drops perfectly. Although I’m not too worried about speed it’s always nice to have the extra fps if possible.
I have some surplus 2209 on hand hence the reason of wanting to use it but if a different powder would be better then I’d probably just go this route from the beginning.
Put a long action mag and bolt stop in it then you will be able to seat them right out and still easily fit the magQuote:

I think you would get that easy with 2209....I was getting 2620 with 162 Amax/2209 loaded to fit in a poxy short A-Bolt mag
