Thread: 7mm 168 gr match king on deer?

Hi guys,

I have recently borrowed a 7x61 S&H Super which is loaded up with 7mm 168 gr match king projectiles going 2900fps. I am aware these bullets are made for long range target shooting, but just wondering whether anyone has had any experience with them on deer? Do they expand sufficiently.

Im planning on using the rifle for tops hunting this summer, and would prefer not to have to develop a new load since the rifle is only loaned to me but if the match kings are unsuitable for hunting I certainly will. Look forward to any advice.

shoot the front shoulder and they are fine, i use the 175 at the same speed
