    7mm

Looking for a heavier pill to mag feed in my short action 284. Currently using 150gr game kings at .5moa.
Wanting to get a bit more out of it without single feeding.
Speer btsp 160gr and 162gr hornady are the ones I'm looking at that are short enough.
Any thoughts on these? Either or?

Cool, good to know...accuracy good? Get a bit spoiled with the consistency of target match bullets

What about the Sierra GK 160gr? Most of the Sierra range are pretty blunt by modern standards.

If you really want to make the most of the .284 then you are probably going to have to go to a 2 load system. A mag fed load that works up close and for quick shots and a longer load with a high BC projectile for longer range, when you have time to single feed.
A 162 amax/eld-m at 2800-2900fps is an amazing combination at 300yds plus. Don't be put off by single feeding.

The 160 gn Speer BTSP are probably your best compromise - or stick with 150 gn options like new ELDX or the old NBTs. But personally I’d pick the best performing high BC 160 - 162 gn pill and learn to deal with single feed. I run both 160 TMKs and the old faithful 162 Amaxs in my 284s and both work very well. Single feeding is really not that much of an obstacle. I assume you’ve got a mag length load for 0-300 yards sorted. For longer range shots you need plenty of time to set up the shot so an extra 2-3 seconds to single feed the round is neither here nor there.

Yep the 160 gk could do.
Had dual load with single feed 150eld x..shot mint but change in POI between them pissed me off
