7mm projectile advise
Hey guys
Just after some suggestions for a projectile.
After 120-140gr all rounder pill. Kind of a 0-400m.
Out of an 08.
Don't need super high bc
Was thinking of interlock or SST but I know Hornady stuff is hard to come by. Any other options I should be looking at.
Something that's not going to be too expensive in case I get carried away on goats.
Cheers

Speer 145gn SPBT or 130gn

120 sierra prohunters work well. But as chainsaw said speers are wicked and fair bit cheaper

Just today I test fired some Speer 130 using 2206 'cos I still have 100 from back in the day. 4 shots into sort of .5". Velocity will be about 2.9k out of 18" barrel. Well pleased. I get 3k from the 120 Sierra pro hunters and they shoot the same.
Both kill deer proper.
140SST is no slug either but Im treating them as precious 'cos Im down to 50. If you can find them, thats what I recommend as an all rounder. Don't listen to the nay-sayers about the SST. They know nothing and spend too much time shooting from the key board :) .
Its tough finding 7mm projectiles at the moment. My advice is to get yourself on some back order lists with a couple of retailers.

130 Speer great in all my rifles.

I've used 140 SGK's in my 7x57 for years, never had any issues. SST's shoot to the same poi. Mates 7-08 does the same. But if you can find some interlock's - they knock shit over!....and shoot straight.

Some of us are old enough to remember when Speer was the go to projectile, deer haven't become any tougher to kill.

Yep. Grew up using only Speer in the .243 and yep, exactly.
