    7mm Rem Mag light loads

    Hey everyone,
I have ended up with a Ruger Hawkeye in 7mm rem mag(24” barrell, 1:9.5” twist). Full power rem mag loads are a bit beyond what I need, but absolutely love the rifle, so want to see if anyone has any decent load recipes that drop the power down a bit, closer to .270 or .30-06? Is it worth doing, or should I just give in and sell it for something with lesser bite?

Too easy. Drop down in projectiles weight to say a 139-140 and use start load data. And if want really light use trail boss and Thier formular....which is basically as simple as finding a std load ,work out it's volume NOT weight, easy as with Lee spoon set. Drop same VOLUME of trail boss on scales and start slightly lower. I'm picking a start load will see you in 7mm/08 region and trailboss be down in 7mm waters levels.
GSP HUNTER and Oldbloke like this.

    Great advice
Hunt safe, look after the bush & plug more pests. The greatest invention in the history of man is beer.
