7mm rem mag load data 162 amax

    Hey guys,

Im after some some load data for a 7mm rem mag, particularly 162 amax loads. The rifle is a Sake A7. I no every rifle is different and will shoot differently to the next rifle, i just want some guide line on what works and what doesn't as i dont want to wear out the barrel trying different combinations.

    Thanks

    Hey mate,
I'm pretty sure if you start with a reloading book it will have max and min. Start with these and move up slowly. It won't take long. Failing that Google is your friend

Unless you are planning on shooting 1000 rounds per minute load testing, you don't need to worry about wearing out the barrel.

Start with book loads of 2217 and work up to what your rifle likes and performs.with

So, thumbs up to all the "boys" who suggest you to follow the reloading books available, you will get "everything" you need there for sure.
I will give you a suggestion about what my loads are for my 7mm rem mag. I load my 162's Amax and SST with ADI 2217, my accuracy load for it is 69.5gn, and it is just bellow of the maximum load. Start your load development from 68-70gn with 0.5gn in between the loads. Don't relay on my load yet, search for a long timer Reloader and ask his opinion, check online on the ADI website for the minimum and maximum load for this cartridge. http://www.adi-powders.com.au/handlo...mington+Magnum
Hope it help you a bit, ALWAYS start your loads from the smallest charge and check EVERY cartridge for over pressure signs.

@ebf and @kiwi39 sent me some info on OCW testing. It worked bloody well for me when working up a load. Made more sense to me than a ladder test as you fire three shots per charge weight.
