7mm rem mag loads

I have 2lbs Retumbo if you need

Anyone done a load with 175s and 2217? Looking at doing that out of my 20” RM and hoping for around 2890fps. What other powders would work?

You probably won't quite get there, maybe with some exotic powder. I had 2950fps with 69.5 grains of 2217. Very warm load, 24 inch barrel. That was at 3.450 inches COAL,much longer than SAAMI and these were single feed in my rifle.

That sounds like it could work. Will work my way up, as long as they’re doing more than 2800 I’m happy. Currently running 2225 and 162’s but can’t fit anymore powder in without starting to compress quite a bit.

I found the same problem with 2225, 2217 doesn't take up as much space.

Recently cut my tikka rem mag down to 20”. Went through testing with 2217, 2213sc and 2225 with both 162 eld-x and eld-m. All with Norma brass and fed 210 primers. Settled on 73.5gr of 2225 with the 162gr eld-m OAL as long as mag could take, as gave best accuracy (0.6moa at 100 with a 10 shot group) and is running at 2876fps. Was tempted on trying some of the fairy dust powders but decided best to just go hunting with that time instead.
