    The go to load with a 162 a-max eld-m eld-x type projectile is 71-72gr 2217 or 72-74gr 2225. Magnum primer case won’t matter much.
I also ran a 160accubond with 1 grain less powder.

If you check the sammi overall length for 7mm rem mag it is 3.290" or 84mm. My understanding is these measurements should work in any factory chambered 7mm rem mag...

@matagouri this is correct however loading longer than sammi often produces better velocity and accuracy
But the Throats on rifles Very a lot

I don’t have the load length data anymore, but so long as not jammed it should work. Obviously work up to the load.

if the eldx don't shoot well try the berger elite hunter or Hornandy ELDM in the same weight

180 ELD-M in mine with 215 GMM primers and 67 grains of RE26 gives 2840 fps.

Mine is throated long to give 91mm (from memory) OAL, so start lower and work up.

Some say 180s are too heavy for 7 RM, but I don’t agree. Send them at 2800+ and they will hold waaay more energy at long range than the little fellas.

    Just my opinion, fwiw.

    Cheers

I have just loaded up my Tikka rem mag for tahr shooting,

Have done 3 loads of each, 2225 powder, 69,70,71,72. 84mm o.a.l (max to mag load tikka) Using the sierra 165 TGK projectile, will hopefully be testing it this or next weekend and then flying into a tahr landing site for the week

    Will keep you posted

I had a short burst with the 175eldx in my rm my twist didnt allow it but bloody eh in my opinion rm more than enough for a 180gn . I ran 180 bergers in my last 7mm and 175 eldx . If i was rem maging again id be trying 168 berger

8.7 twist Bartlein on my 7 RM stabilises 180s just fine.
