    7mm rem velocity

    hey guys, trying to get more out of my 7mm rem mag. im currently using 67grain 2217 pushing 154gr SST @ 2800 fps. I was wandering if anyone was using this kind of brew and was getting better results?

    67gr seems pretty light. I was getting around 2940 with 72.5gr in a tikka with 162sst. If i were you id do a simple 1 shot ladder till you reach pressure in your gun noting down velocities. See if any nodes appear in the velocity results and go from there for a faster node

    71-72gr 2217 with a 162gr projectile is a pretty common load. 67 with a 154 is a light load. You should be getting close to 3100fps with a 154 in a 24” barrel.

    As others have indicated, you can get way more out of a 7mm rem mag. Hell you can get 2800fps with 150grn's out of a 308win.
