Yes mighty Maurice. He wasn’t a bad fella. He took me out for a couple of deer stalks in North Block when I was 13 or so.

Worked on Tiroa for 6 years myself. General hand though to head shepherd. Also did a stint of fencing prior to that.

Not quite right with Wharekiri Jeff, close though . Paul Leedum was manager then..?

We took over some of Wharekiri’s sheep when it was split between Tiroa and Waipa. Yes, great shearing sheep apparently but would clip a kg lighter than Tiroas. They used to supply sheep for the Te Kuiti Shears using rams from Robin Fagan....
