    Why a short action or why a short action chambering?

    Mines on a short action and its brilliant I shoot 180gn eldm at 2900 longer barrel obviously its my do all bush to the mountains barrels 20" if i was running a 24" Id be happy with a 280AI or 284Win or even the 708 but I wanted to hold velocity and a handy to me oal length from bolt face to muzzle with a saum over the 280 i get an inch more rifling for the same length and an inch less action contributing to shorter out the front maintain correct legnth of pull. The short fat seems to hold velocity better than the long skinny sub 24"
