Anyone have the Berger book lying around. Interested in 7mm wsm and 168 vld with H4831sc data if possible.
Cheers

I was using 69 grains of rl25.
Single ragged hole load
Keen to see what u guys use. I run 162gr eldx with 69 gr ar2217
I have plenty of H4831sc so keen to stick with it it's going to work. Seen some data published online that is reportedly from Berger with the 168 that states 64.8 grn max for around 2950. Adi state 63 max for 2213 so I'm being a bit cautious.
I would be happy to use ar2213data and the 2 powders are now days the same stuff in different bottles.

Same powder. Quite a different max charge. Possibly because of the smaller bearing surface of the Berger and less pressure. I'll start low and keep an eye on pressure signs and velocity. Also using Bertram brass that doesn't have best reputation for toughness so will have to bear that in mind.
the difference in maximum charge HAS ALWAYS been there between the 2.... the mighty .270 has a 60grn maximum of Hodgdon stuff.(130grn pill)..good luck fitting it in the case...the shorter THALES/ADI stuff fits easier as is shorter cut (thus the sc on end of name AR2213sc)

To be clear H4831sc is AR2213sc, just in a different bottle although lots may differ. H4831, originally a surplus powder, later made by Nobels and now by ADI as AR2213H. There were some significant variations in speed The later is not available to the public. AR2213 was made by ADI from about 1986 to just before 2000 and is now obsolete. AR2213 is a little faster than AR2213sc. Dupont made the original IMR4831 that was sold by Hodgdons as surplus as 4831. Current production is faster than any of the others. Data for AR2213 is obsolete and should not be used. Some of it is very hot.
GPM.
Dupont...thats the other one...couldnt think of it lol.... mulwex was in there too

Being doing a bit more research and quickload has a load of 64 gn of H4831sc doing 2900 ish at 60 000psi with a nice pressure curve and a 99 % burn in a 24 inch barrel. I emailed Berger and they came back with a max charge of 62.6 doing 2850 or so.
Think I'll drop down my ladder to start at 62 and work up to 64 and see what I find. I have a couple of three shot tests at 64.2 and 64.4 but anticipate not getting that high before seeing pressure.
Other powders look better for speed but supply is an issue. If I can get 2900 and accuracy with the 168 /H4831sc combo ill call it done and go hunting.
I'll post up my results on a different thread if anyone is interested.
Before getting onto the rl25 load I was using 63 grains of h4831sc with the 168s. I never put it through the chronny but recall it shooting tennis ball size groups at 670yards with a howling cross wind.
I reckon you with be just on 2900 fps or slightly under
