I have used the 110grain ttsx in 308 quite a bit as I like the lessened recoil. Providing you have time and the angles to break shoulders they work very well in my experience. However, you don’t always have time or the ideal angles when hunting in the bush and there are definitely far more forgiving choices in those situations. I have had two very disappointing results with them. Both animals were shot at very close range so nice high impact velocity and yet despite good hits they required very long tracking jobs (many hours). One went nearly 100 meters in thick bush and there was no blood until the last 25meters. I probably would have given up and called it a miss if it wasn’t for a big clump of lung tissue on the ground where the deer had been standing.
