    7mm08 case capacity

    Hi everyone,
I got different case manufacturers ie Lapua, Winchester, PPM?
I remember seeing a list for different capacities.
    Anyone got one for a 7mm08 and/ or .223/ .308 ?
I believe the capacity is more important than the different weight when it comes to sorting?
Does it make a difference for a hunting load (max.350 yards shots) to use different brass?
    Any input much appreciated
    Cheers

Yes, it makes a significant difference if you use different brass and the same load. Don't go down that path. It leads to smoke coming out of the action and a profound desire to not pull the trigger on that rifle ever again.

Yeh I found if I load my standard hornady brass loads in federal brass is get a big extractor Mark and a sticky bolt for my troubles. Lucky only loaded 10 rounds.

Definitely keep your brass separated by brand and work up loads for each brand, Lapua is pretty uniform the others not so much
for hunting it's probably not worth weighing you brass unless you have lots of time on your hands, I load different bullets in different
brand cases, makes it easier to identify what load is in which case.

Yes, all of the above makes sense, will sort different brass for different bullets and work up the loads separately.

    Yip sure does
In My rifle (7mm08) here are some fired case capacity's in grains water
    Federal 55.67 Gr
    Norma 55.73 Gr
    Hornady 56.25 Gr
    Remington 56.65 Gr
    Winchester 57.4 Gr
As you can see quite a difference, so a mild load in Winchester brass could end up being a hot load in Federal brass.

I know you are referring to the 708 but for my 223 i use a mix of ppu, winny, rp, and adi cases, same load in each. Some are fuller than others. Ppu seems lowest volume. 26 gr of 2205h with a 55 gr same pio all loads and no pressure signs in any case. I do sort by no of reloads. The same applies for my 6.5, 308 and 8mm all mixed make brass, never had an issue mind you the loads probably arnt hot, i go for accuracy consistency and low sd, not speed. The only brass i have found to be crap is federal, off centre flash holes odd shaped primer pockets.

Pick one brand and stay with it, less fuck ups that way
