    7PRCW or 7/6.5PRC

Who's playing with this making waves in US PRS with good available brass from Norma/Lapua and easy to neck up. Have ordered the reamer and guages and will build a hunting rifle. A bit like a modern WSM/SAUM but with easy to get brass.
Also 6.5PRC was not performing as Hornady advertised.

I had a 7-6.5PRC built. Haven't gotten around to firing it and doing load development. But will be running the 175gr bergers

Will update when it's sorted building on a long action so no magazine constraints with big bullets. US guys are using Berger 180s with Vih 555 and getting 2900 fps but with a 32" tube. I'm thinking a 25" tube with Muzzle brake and using 180 eldm.

What was the issue the 6.5 prc? A mate has one in a bergara, 21.5 inch barrel, putting rounds through the same hole but only doing 2670

Thats the issue a .260 will do an honest 2800 with an 18-20" tube . As for the 7 6.5prc I understand its popular over their due to lack of 7saum brass more than anything would be my guess? Iv only seen numbers once and I cant quote them but it was a fair bit slower than the saum and a heap slower than the wsm

Exactly it's anemic but very accurate.

My 7 prc is doing 2830 out of a 20” barrel with a 175 berger. 2890 with factory eld x 175. Anyone have any ideas why the 6.5 prc is so slow in short barrel? Would handloading change much? Not to hijack your thread mate

I think that cartridge is also used in f class. Eric cortina is using it.

Maybe bores to small it looses speed worse than the bigger bores . Iv also seen it handloaded pretty bloody awsome to though it does seem theirs alot more slower prcs around than fast but on the bore thing the creed and .260 handles chops well. Must be a point though . Hopefully you get abit more speed when decent brass is available
