    7RM preferable powders?

What powder do you find most accurate/consistent...thinking along ADI and Vitu lines for availability. Don't want the wasted money sorting hard to get powders.
When I do go to the dark side I hope to use 140AB and 162Amax in a standard 24" barrel.
I had a quick look, thought I'd ask.
    Thank you again.

    2217 or 2225 with the 162 amax. Probably 2217 possibly 2213sc with the 140gr.

I've had good results with IMR 7828 and Federal primers (stopped using the Winchesters after heard a few had had issues) very consistent and repeatable results and speeds across different weather days and NI temps.

I'm a bit of a anal bugger when it comes to weighing out every pan and group projectiles into same weight catergories (and stick together with mask tape and mark weights for comparison, and checking OAL's for consistency of jump. Also crimp v noncrimp can have an effect (I'm currently crimping 7RM rather than not and seems like it makes a difference - if not mentally)

Lot of variables there as well as powder... Just saying.

Interesting re crimping. I never have but had some issues in the middle of the night; not much fun when hunting.
Told to try 2225 so have some lined up.

I asked this same question a few months ago,
    2217 or 2225,
I went with 2225 with my 162gr amax out of a 24" barrel

I'm using 162 amax and 2213sc in my 26inch rem mag. Getting 2950fps and just under 3/4 inch at 100 meters. ....also use the same powder in my 284.

Perfect reason to go to 2217

Magpro or H1000 is excellent for 7 mm rem mag . Magpro is the best but don't think they bring it in now

yeah 2225 or 2217 will both work well for you. In choice of pills I use the 150 gn or 160 gn Partitions as the up close and personal load, and out of 7mmRM they are good out to 400 - 450 yrds. The AB's dont match the terminal performance of the Partitions and range is much more limited.

Thanks for that. I indeed was thinking the partitions matched up well for the grunt produced. The 160's would be hearty mixture.
