    7SAUM bullet options

Hey. I will soon have a 7SAUM and was planning to go down the 175ELD-X route. Having a look around there appears mixed reviews on the terminal performance of this bullet. I have a 1:8 barrel at 20" so can shoot heavier bullets. It's on a SA with magazine max 2.980". I like the idea of keeping weight up. The 175 Berger EH or 180ELD-M might work.
Be keen to hear if anyone else is using these with both good ballistic and terminal performance. Shooting ADG brass and WR or Fed215 Magnum primers. Can shoot standard LR primers too as this appears to give lower ES if what's online is right.
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

The 180 eldm are exceptional harvesters of deer

I have double lunged all sizes of deer at distances out to about 1300 yards and they really do their job well, no negatives experienced to date

175 eldx is easy accuracy I haven’t shot an animal with them in my saum though did in the blazer mag some great results some bad results
180eldm go very well out of my last barrel demo animals large rifle are much better than magnum in saum iv got 175 elite hunters here I haven’t tried yet shooting 180vld h before I start on my limited 175 elite hunters they seem to be a prick to source their all pretty long projectiles but go well seated deep

If stuffing into a short action then 162gr ELDMs wouldn't be a bad way to go.

Honestly? If it's a fresh barrel then you need to find a load (bullet and powder) that shoots first, stock up with a barrel's worth instead of worry about what BC is best etc.

Have seen blokes whip up a world beating load but then find out the 200 bullets and one tub of powder they bought are now unobtanium or have to scour the ends of the earth/pay insane prices.

Here in the UK the 180 ELDM never took off as the initial reports of blow-ups and most people not having a barrel twist fast enough or magazine long enough ment the price hovered around £40 per 100 (before 7PRC came out). When I found them at close to £30 per 100 and rumours of a lead ban, I went ahead and got a barrel's worth.

They are quite a long yet jump tolerant bullet. Not seen any mid-air blow ups (touch wood) and very happy with them, most shops had them on the back of shelves due to the method of stocking items being a random purchase of whatever the distributor had.

If you can get to a shop with a large amount of the same lot, it would be prudent to stock up or even ask if they have a bulk discount if buying 1-2k of the same projectile.

I'd not touch Bergers due to availability problems, F class mob buying them by the thousand no matter the cost and also price.
