Early handloads using Winchester WLR primers produced low velocities but excellent accuracy. I later realised that the low velocity was due mostly to the soft projectiles I was using. I did read somewhere that the SAUM gave better accuracy with slightly less velocity (around 80 fps from memory) with standard primers rather than magnums but have yet to test that. This seems to be in line with the above posts. I really should do some testing and F-Open shooting. I note that the Hodgdon data for the .280 AI uses WLR primers with case capacity close to the SAUM.

280AI and 7SAUM from what I understand are ballistic twins
