Greetings Again,
Terry Wieland did an article in Handloader 325 April 2020. There is nothing standard about the cartridge or the rifles. Most rifles were target rifles with some intended for small game. Projectiles were 180 grains or there about and had an oversize driving band (about .338 dia) that regulated the seating depth. Cases were not sized but the primer knocked out with a punch and the case re capped with a hand tool and charged with powder. The lubed projectile was then seated with the fingers. RWS may still make the brass and the barrel will need to be slugged to find out what the groove dia is. Redding has made dies in their custom range. Terry recommended loads giving around 1,200 fps. Loading for the rifle would be frustrating and rewarding in ample measure but simple and cheap it would not be.
Please tell us what sort of rifle it is. The ranged from single shot Mauser bolt actions to the most ornate and fabulous target rifles possible.
Regards Grandpamac.
