I was looking at the 338 scorpion and the 338 razorback. Just optimise pure subsonic in 338 diameter. The scorpion is of the 7.62x39.
Another candidate could be the 357x39. It would feed in a Howa mini , could shoot 180xtp or big cast lead subsonic and also shoot lighter bullet at full power much better than a 357 magnum.
There seems to be an interest in that 9x39 cartridge in the USA, with a following from fans of the discreet Russian AK chambered in that round. Because that gun is so rare in the west, there is a mythology created around it, and so some US gunshops are starting to produce there own version of the gun which maintains a demand for that round .
