Yep, just watch for batch variability as you normally would
Ta Stu. I can't get my hands on any 2213sc at the moment, which is what I was really after.

Current Hodgdon (rebranded) Powders made by ADI for Hodgdon.
Some interesting info there Zimmer, thanks for sharing... Here you go @H&K MAN
Thanks for the 2x offers of 2213sc chaps. I bought some 2217 so I will try that. If it doesn't play nicely I will be back to you on the scrounge.
Cheers
So I tried out the ADI 2217 in the 270wsm today. 5 loads starting at 67.5 and increments up to 70.5. 140 grn Nosler BT.
The highest 2 shots in the 100 yard group are 70 & 70.5 gns. 70.5 grn velocity was 3135fps.
I was hoping for close to 3,200fps but am wondering if I should just call it a day at 70.5 grns or push on to the target velocity. There are no pressure signs and the ADI max 70grns. Federal brass.

I tried getting some 2217 on Thursday, but was told that none is available and not sure when it will be. Damnit!
Next adi shipment into NZ is late april . Will be a wait and see to just what actually gets shipped tho.
Oh, cheers for that. I guess the 308 Norma will sit in the cupboard for the roar then.
I will try to source a different powder like 4831 and try it, or use a different gun.
There is H1000 available from at least one wholesaler.... 8lbers :)
8lbers? Is that in 8 lb lots? Could be a bit pricey for me at that moment. Thanks tho mate
Ha. It is true I havnt shot many aminals of late. Been at work trying to get ahead of the 8ball.
Caples trip in late April tho which I am really stoked about. Cheers Greg.
Yeah, GWH. I'm pleased. Just not certain if I should push the envelope any further?
How flat are the primers? No hard bolt lift?
Does it always double group like that, maybe a bedding issue?
Oh ok.
Had another play around today. I've settled on 71 grns 2214 for 3160 fps. .5 moa.
N560 has potential with little wee bug hole groups but velocity down at 3137 fps. No pressure signs so probably has another 1 grn to go which will see it up close to 3200 fps. But I'm in no rush now I've got a hunting load sorted.
Its taken 16 shots to sort.
An extra 40fps ain't going to make much difference. Call it good and go and shoot another 16 deer with the ammo you would have used to get a good load at 3200 fps.
