    Annealing

Has anyone got a link to a well designed, valid, statistically meaningful test to demonstrate whether there is

    1. value in annealing vs not annealing in terms of velocity change over brass life, velocity consistency, and/or dispersion?
    2. performance of induction vs flame annealing?

This guy on face book said its a waste of time so it must be....

Just from my experiance i get longer brass life I dont anneal every time tho. Also I have found I need to anneal greek mil 303 brass in order to get the neck to size down. There seems to be some spring back in the brass or something and me personally cant get the neck to size down. Cant comment on affects on accuracy as I dont shoot target rifles

I know brass work hardens. I know annealing should extend brass life. I know the theoretical benefits.

I have yet to see (with active searching) a convincing dataset that shows benefits to any of the above metrics I listed.

Following this with very keen interest. This is something I also would like to know.

I'm sure Eric Cortina did a couple of videos on it.

If you have a garden and a library, you have all you need. Oh, and a dog, and a rifle

I don't care about brass hardness. It's a proxy metric assumed to be affecting actual results.

Makes the case look cool, that statistical enough?

But do I buy new lapua brass every firing or an AMP, in order to get the effect?

Didn't AMP do some tests via a third party on this kind of stuff?
Can't quantify but some of my brass has 20 high pressure firings on it. According to GRT I am up around 59000 psi. I anneal every time so that's where my stats end.
