Actually anyone using Bergers or similar J4 jacketed projectiles for hunting will find its a good idea to inspect the tip of their projectiles (meplat)
Any meplat holes that are smaller or have closed up set them aside for range work as I'd say the closed tips have been responsible for the highest percentage of "non killing" " non expanding" "zip through" type hits on animals.
Some of my berger 300grn hunter elite look like they have terrible consistency in the meplat area... cant be good for terminal performance. The ones that I have used certainly work tho.
