anyone have any 162g Amax projectiles for sale?

    Hi everyone,

I am trying to get my hands on some 162g Amax prgectiles for my 7mm mag. I know how rare they are at the moment so I have been trying a number of different projectiles but am struggling to get the same results.
I have pre ordered some Amax's from Gun works which they hope to have buy the end of next month but I'm running low and if anyone has some for sale Id consider buying some off you. Or does anyone know someone who may have some?

Are there any 7mm users that don't rely on amaxs? Almost seems like a reason why not to buy a 7mm

The 150g Nosler Ballistic Tip is a solid performer and with its stubbier ogive is often far more accurate in rifles that don't like the amax.

The lesser BC value needs a few more clicks on the elevation dial, they drop deer at 1100 yrds for us when flung at 3100 fps, easy velocity in a saum or rem mag.

168 bergers work well, I couldn't tell the difference between the 162 amax or the berger in my 7mm mag.

I've been using SST's. Haven't shot any animals past 400 at this stage but otherwise they seem acceptable.

I have two 7mm Rem Mag, one for hunt and other for LR shooting. I like and use Amax's but I have used for both the SST's too. No complain about the SST for hunt but it has had mixed results in short/mid range in "small" ish game(goat and fallow).
I never try the Berger's or Sierra's yet but I am keen on the 168gr.
    Maybe sometime soon.

while the Bc's aren't as flash the Hornady SST or the Nosler BT both work well at extended ranges.

Gunworks have the 162 amax turning up at the end of the month, early September. So give them a ring or your local shop.

You would want to hope they actually show up, could be a bit embarrassing other wise, they do have quite a few boxes on order
