Anyone shooting a 25-45 Sharps in their AR15?

    Hi Guys.
Is anyone shooting a 25-45 Sharps in their Ar15? Its been around for awhile now.
    What's it like?
How easy is it to make the cases from 223 / 5.56 brass?
Looks like it would be a good hunting round. Sort of close to a 257 Roberts by the look of it.

scootch00...just watch him assembling a lower or 2 ....shudder......

Yet another caliber. So all our AR Guru's, looking at all the options out there whats so good about yet another caliber that isnt (fairly) mainstream? and hence cheap? he sums it up as "a little better" For me the ideal gain is asymmetrical, I do a little and get quite a bit back.

I am curious, my impression is I think the AR15 platform has limits and things like this are stretching them. I mean it isnt bad to develop something just at some point be prepared to move. Like when I used to build high performance car engines after a certain point in tuning them up it just came back to get a bigger engine, capacity increases are relatively cheap, quieter, more effective and longer lasting. I wonder the AR15 isnt the same. So for medium range (300~800yds) where you have time why isnt the good old bolty ideal?

Some people just prefer AR's for every thing. The DPMS Gen II series is a great idea IMO. A short barrel .308 will probably give you much better horsepower and ballistics than anything you can fit in an AR15. Except maybe a Grendel. Still pretty sure that would still come up pretty short in terms of energy.

I would be interested to see what speed can be achieved with that cartridge in barrels 16" or less.
