    Ar15's with heavy projectiles

Will the likes of the Hornady bthp's, Sierra TMK's in the 68gr upwards range fit in an AR magazine properly seated, or am I better to stay around the 62-65gr weight? Mainly smacking targets and goats.

Rifle has 12.5inch barrel 1-7 twist using 2206H powder.

I use the 69g in mine. Only down side is less case capacity due to having to seat the projectiles further in.

Cool so no issues like crimping past the ogive etc? What velocities are you achieving?

You can seat them just fine. I have shot both 68 a and 75 gr bthp accurate with good speed.

I have run 77gr TMK but I think that is the limit? ie the 80gr might be single load only? The faster the twist the heavier or rather the longer the bullet would be expected to be. In my case however while I have 1in9 the 77gr seems 1/8th~1/4th more accurate than 69gr TMK which I didnt expect. I would suggest therefore you try various bullets to see what the gun likes. I am going to try the 80gr for the hell of it just to see, but I really need to buy a good match grade barrel and build a new upper.

Cheers lads might give the 68's a crack as that seems like a reasonable projectile weight for my twist and barrel length.
