So have managed a few different loads the last coupla days and it seems the OAL has made quite a difference, havent made it to the book max for powder yet either. Have only gone to 34.5 grains behind the 55g blitzking which is all I have that is new projectiles, have a heap of old ones of different weight and type from a forum member that I have had a play with. But worry that I wont be able to get them these days??? So havent pursued seriously.


Seems like something around 2.45 OAL is going to work. Used the "crude" measurement of a projectile just seated to an empty case (as suggested in some online reading) which gave me 2.49 to the lands. Will maybe work up to max....but have no chrony and .38 is good. Someone said grouping over speed. Load some more at 34.5/2.45 and make sure it wasnt a fluke.
