Try looking for H4350 data, it is 2209 with a different sticker on the bottle.

760 works ok for the 160 and up bullets. H414 is the same powder as well. What bullet weight you after? My Lyman manual has a few loads mentioned.

Be aware that equivalent absolutely does not mean the same as, and most definitely doesn't mean you can use data of one for the other. 760 is a ball powder and a very different animal to AR2209.

Depending on the projectile weight you want to use AR2206 or AR2208 are much better choices for 308. If you have some 2209 it shouldn't be hard to trade with someone on here?

If there is no listed data then pass on the idea unless you you really know the subject well.

At $150kg it's not worth blowing yourself up for.
As suggested 2206 or 2206H & 2208 are often used with good results.

    Greetings,
The only data I could find was for IMR4350 from the 1970's. This showed low velocities, around 200 fps below faster powders with a compressed load. IMR4350 is slower or faster than AR2209 depending on which data you use so the short answer is that it is not suitable in the .308W.

The load data for .308W on the ADI site does not show any 2209 loads.
It's basically too slow burning, its 2208 brother being far more suitable

If you are set on using 2209 then be prepared for reduced performance , all you need to do is use the data on the ADI site for the .307

I use it for 200 grainers and higher in .308 and have done for years, long barrels are key I've found
I used the minimum IMR4350 data from the Nosler manual and worked up as per normal pressure signs

thanks for the infos, had been loading the 270 but this round is not so friendly to my shoulder, thinking of switching to a more gentle round like the 308, will be nice if i could use the 2209.

@holdover. Not a good idea. Go 2208 or even better 2206H. If you want some 2208 I'll swap 500 gram for same quantity of 2209. My young fellah lives in AK so no drama. Your call.
