    Ballistic app

Went to try out my .260 at longer range and to daily up for the loads I use so put all the data into app and dialed of required all going well until 580 yards and two shots real low others were all good enough for me and hunting.
    Any ideas why? ?

This is the target showing 200,300,400 and 580 yards not sure whey the drop at 580 after dialing up correct amount.

Perhaps bc is a little bit out or maybe velocity, the forces on the projectile becoming more noticeable the further out you go. The gravitational pull and wind resistance (what ever direction its coming from are acting upon the projectile for a longer time... What you have is the actual real data you want! (if weather conditions were good). Take your measurements from the bull a confirm actual drop a 580 yards. Some further data out to 800 or something would give you a very accurate drop chart. Gseven ballistic program has a good trajectory validation feature that I didn't find in the likes of the free strelok app.

Cool thanks for that I will try another lot at 5,6,7 and 800 yards to get actual drop.

Did you change have to shift your firing point or just the target?

Yea had to move position and a lot more wind to deal with.
I'm still happy as its a dead animal.

Sure is. The vertical shift could just be a minor position adjustment as well.
Do you use a rear bag?

Yea that's what I thought so Re input range and checked number of clicks as I thought it was shit hot out to 400 then went back to 580 and 140mm drop.
So does that mean I'm 4 clicks out or have I got that wrong?

Im picking the change in position altering rifle support is the culprit but someone has said that already so I'm agreeing with them. Well known effect amongst target shooters.
